Services
I was always going to be an animal doctor.
Since I could say the word "vet", my path was chosen.
I started in the way most budding vets do, bringing home injured wildlife and strays and attempting to nurse them back to health.
Both my successes and failures helped ignite a need for more education.
My passions include positive reinforcement training and behavior shaping and helping fearful or aggressive pets learn to love life and vets!
Pediatrics, senior pet care, surgery, allergies, and standards of care in veterinary anesthesia and pain management are just a few of my interests.
Because of the shorter lifespan of our pets, we stress the importance of an annual physical examination.
Thorough check-ups and preventive care can help alleviate serious health problems.
Surgical Services: Our state-of-the-art surgical suite provides for the performance of a wide variety of surgical procedures.
We offer referral to local surgical specialists for any procedures we are unable to perform.
Anesthesia: We utilize the safest available anesthetics to provide an extra margin of safety, especially for our older or high-risk patients.
Your Pet's Dental Health is a vital part of his or her overall health.
Studies show that about 28 percent of domestic cats develop at least one of these painful lesions during their lifetime.
If left untreated, periodontitis can lead to tooth loss.
A complete home dental care program for your pet will include brushing, oravet application, and dental chews/treats.
Ask our staff to show you how to introduce brushing.
STEP 1: Introduce a brushing program to pets gradually.
Avoid over-restraining your pet and keep brushing sessions short and positive.
Safe Harbor Animal Hospital is proud to introduce MLS Laser Technology Therapy as an effective, proven, noninvasive, and pain free treatment option to treat acute and chronic conditions with great clinical benefits to manage pain, reduce inflammation, restores mobility, and speeds recovery.
During therapy treatment, the laser uses specific wavelengths of light to favor and accelerate the body's natural healing processes.
The laser beam is moved over the skin so the light energy (photons) penetrates the tissue and accelerates cellular reproduction and growth.
You are a true companion, our child.
Bob you were always there to uplift us when we were down, you loyally stayed by our side, when I had an asthma attack you would alert the family to come to my rescue.
You cheered up Moe any time she needed you, always willing to take an afternoon nap with Daddy.
When Moe's blood sugar was low, buddy you would not leave her side until she felt better.
You were John's confidant and decision maker.
Not to mention his very first friend and brought him so many smiles and good times.
