We are a well equipped, very versatile animal care facility. Our staff is here to provide the best quality surgical and medical care to our patients, your pets. Dr. Dustin Hunt is a graduate of Purdue University School of Veterinary Medicine. He is members of local, state, and National Veterinary Associations. The rest of the team consists of our office manager, registered technicians, assistants and animal caretakers.

Smith Veterinary Hospital was established in May of 1976.
The practice was purchased from Deloss Fireoved, DVM, at which point the practice primarily focused on large animals.
The building consisted of a waiting room and one general purpose room used as an exam room, pharmacy, lab area and surgery room.
The clinic also featured a kennel room, one outside run and a big old red barn.
Larry and Madge began coming to the practice twice a month in 1974 and 1975 while finishing their veterinary schooling at Purdue University.

We can collect and prepare canine semen for fresh chilled shipment.
For best results a pre-shipment evaluation is recommended before shipping a male for the first time.
Semen shipments are sent overnight via Fed-Ex.
Collection and freezing of canine semen is offered at Smith Veterinary Hospital.
We prepare and ship your frozen semen as well.
Due to shipping requirement times, notice must be given at least 48 hours in advance of when semen will need to be shipped.
Semen is shipped domestically overnight via Fed-Ex.
For best results a pre-shipment evaluation is recommended before shipping a male for the first time.

Collection and freezing of canine semen is offered at Smith Veterinary Hospital.
We prepare and ship your frozen semen as well.

The initial collection is $480 which includes the collection, full semen evaluation, processing for freezing, Brucellosis testing, AKC paperwork (if required) and the first year of storage.
Subsequent collections for freezing are $275 each.
Brucellosis testing must be current within 6 months of each collection.
Annual storage will be charged on the anniversary of your initial collection.
You will receive an invoice via mail 30 days before your annual storage is due.
There is a 30 day grace period after that invoice is printed to transfer or use any semen to avoid the storage fee.
Subsequent collections for freezing are $275 each.
Brucellosis testing must be current within 6 months of each collection.
