Dr. Miles began his career in Tarpon Springs, Florida, following graduation from the veterinary college at the University of Florida in 1984.
To supplement his income, he worked nights at a local emergency animal clinic, where he developed a keen interest in emergency and critical care medicine.
Two years later, he accepted a full-time position with the Animal Emergency Clinic in West Palm Beach and subsequently purchased the practice with another veterinarian.
In 1994, they opened a second Emergency Clinic in Deerfield Beach.
