Our goal at Waterways Veterinary Clinic is to provide our clients with quality veterinary care to pets in remote areas by providing telephone consultations and medical supplies with an emphasis on prevention and maintenence; and to educate owners in self help techniques and problem solving for those times when veterinary care is unavailable.
Services
Dr. Ken Hill grew up in Alaska but immediately after graduating high school at the age of 18 he left to earn his B.S. degree at the University of Oregon in 1970 and completed his DVM certification at Colorado State University in 1975.
Upon Graduation Dr. Hill started College Village Animal Clinic and a year and a half later began relief and bush practices in Bethel, Kuskokwin Delta, Yakutat and other small outlying communities.
In 1976 he set up clinics in Cordova and Valdez while continuing to provide services in remote areas.

She is a now a Puggle on the run!
This little lady started out weighing 48lbs in August of last year and is devotedly working towards her goal of 30lbs.
On a strict diet of Hill's Science Diet/Canine Metabolic + formula (wet and dry) dog food combined with plenty of exercise and play, we expect to see this girl in prime shape soon.
Having already lost 15lbs her owners report "Sadie" is more active than ever before and instead of waiting for "Sadie" to catch up with them on their walks she is now leading the way.

M/V Hallie has been servicing remote areas of SE Alaska since 2002.
She is a 50' aluminum trawler specially redesigned as a mobile veterinary clinic.
The Hallie has allowed Dr. Hill to expand his practice and service the communities of Hoonah, Pelican Bay, Haines, Skagway, Thorne Bay, Wrangell, Coffman Cove, Thorne Bay, Port Protection, Point Baker and Kake.
With a full time practice it has became increasingly difficult to break away and continuing to serve these outlying areas but Dr. Hill is excited to resume 2019 seasonal rounds with M/V Hallie and provide our clients with professional mobile veterinary care.
