Services
At Westchester Veterinary Associates, we have a simple mission-we want to be your partner in caring for your dog or cat and to give you as many happy, healthy years together as possible.
We do that by focusing on comprehensive preventative care and combining that with cutting-edge technology and non-traditional medicine.
By taking a holistic approach to veterinary care and tailoring our treatments to the needs of the individual, we've been able to help countless pets live their best lives.
Nobody goes into veterinary medicine for the money.
Westchester Veterinary Associates knows that best friends come in many shapes and sizes, so we're happy to see and treat exotic pets and small mammals (also known as "pocket pets") of all kinds.
We can advise you about proper care, feeding, and maintenance of your pet, as well as treat illnesses and conditions specific to their species.
It's important to remember that while many of these animals may be lower-maintenance than more conventional pets, they often require managed environments and have very particular needs that must be met in order to thrive.
Our veterinarians are experienced surgeons and fully capable of performing 95% of the routine surgeries presented to us.
For the other 5%, such as orthopedic or extremely complex soft tissue surgery, we call in our consulting board-certified surgeon, Dr. Christopher Dillon.
He does his work right in our hospitals, eliminating the need and expense of going to a referral hospital.
We understand that surgery for our pets is always a little scary, even when the procedure is as simple as a spay or neuter.
If you're going to be traveling internationally or across state lines and plan to take your pet with you, it's important to be aware of exactly what will be required for your animal companion to make the trip.
It's also a good idea to make sure your pet is physically healthy enough for travel.
Dr. Andrew Weisenfeld, DVM is certified to provide International USDA Travel Certifications and can assist you in getting your pet ready for your trip, including assessing whether they're healthy enough for travel-especially the rigors of an airline flight.
Westchester Veterinary Associates is proud to offer Theriogenology services, which concerns reproduction and obstetrics in animals.
Respected feline and canine breeders seek out board-certified theriogenologists to ensure safe and healthy fertility, pregnancy, and neonatal care in the breeding process.
Our own Dr. Sylvia Bedford is certified in Theriogenology and is happy to help with breeding and reproduction issues, testing, and other services.
