Animal Healing Arts Of Portland
Animal Healing Arts offers compassionate, holistic veterinary care that integrates the benefits of traditional western veterinary medicine with the powerful healing potential of acupuncture, nutrition, herbal medicine (Chinese and Western herbs), chiropractic, Reiki and homeopathy. We are limiting the number of clients in the office, one client with each pet will be allowed in.

Masks are required. Please note, we cannot make any exceptions for scheduling new patients as we have to honor the committment we made to be available for our current clients and patients. We truly feel for everyone who has contacted us to help their pets. We will be unable to schedule new patients until we are able to find and hire another veterinarian, which is proving to be extremely difficult.

Thank you for your understanding. Dr. Keith Weingardt is a holistic veterinarian who has extensive experience incorporating the best of all worlds into finding a treatment plan that provides optimal health for his patients and their families.
Services
The initial consultation with Dr. Keith usually takes about 1 hour.
This begins with an in-depth review of the patient's history and extensive physical examination.
During this time a plan is generated and treatment instituted involving the pet's diet, acupuncture treatment, herbal prescription, appropriate/judicious supplementation, reiki and homeopathic prescribing.
Depending on the treatment plan, recheck examinations may be recommended.
Recheck examinations usually take about 45 minutes.
General examination follow-up for on-going medical issues will be recommended based on the patient's condition but range from weekly, monthly, quarterly, biannually or annually.
Dr. Keith Weingardt, DVM, CVA grew up in a suburb of New York City.
After completing his Bachelor's degree in Animal Science at Cornell University, Dr. Weingardt attended Cornell University College of Veterinary Medicine.
He graduated with distinction in 1999.
Needing a break from the cold rain and snow Dr. Weingardt moved to San Diego, California.
After moving to San Diego, Dr. Weingardt completed an internship in Emergency and Critical Care with rotations in surgery, internal medicine, ophthalmology and exotic animal medicine.
I imagine my story starts like most people who connect with animals, like a deep love of chocolate.
I have always had a love of animals.
Maybe it's how they look at me with such acceptance and love or how they remind me that a little petting, a little quality time together, or enjoying a snack are the simple things we need not take for granted.
With time, as I searched for my path in life the desire to help animals temporarily changed form and grew into an interest in sports medicine and eventually into the path of Chiropractic.
In-depth history (including review of previous medical records), physical examination, diagnosis, 2 follow up emails and treatment are all included in the initial consultation fee.
An initial consult usually takes approximately 1 hour and recheck examinations are 45 minutes.
If medications/herbs/supplements are dispensed or low level laser is used additional fees will apply.
Animal Healing Arts has a very busy schedule with an increasing demand for holistic options.
We value your time and ask that you respect ours by giving us advance notice if you need to cancel your appointment.
What is the difference between having Dr. Weingardt or Dr. Kayser see my pet versus a general veterinarian?
Dr. Weingardt has many years of experience working as an emergency and critical care veterinarian before studying holistic modalities.
Dr Kayser had many years of experience working in a variety of different veterinary hospitals as an associate and over 30 hospitals as a relief veterinarian giving her a unique perspective of conventional care.
They both have a strong knowledge base of conventional veterinary medicine which they combine with appropriate holistic modalities to help each individual achieve optimal health.
