However, unless you have a farm animal that needs care, all non-emergent home visits will be suspended. Please know that the staff will be following the guidelines set forth by the CDC, American Veterinary Medical Association, and Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. Please call in advance so we can have your medicine or prescription foods ready for pick up and you do not have to wait in the waiting room.
Please do not wait until you run out!. If you are medically fragile/compromised and need a refill of meds or food, please CALL the office. We can take your payment over the phone and either ship them to you or a staff member will drop them off at your home.

Dr. Renny Shoop is a 1973 graduate of the University Of Pennsylvania School Of Veterinary Medicine.
Since then he has practiced in both the eastern and western parts of PA.
While Dr. Shoop sees small animals too; he has done extensive work with cattle and horses and has a special interest in large animal reproduction.
Dr. Shoop holds APHIS certification for large and small animals, CERVIDAE certification and has been a long time member of PVMA and a lifetime AQHA member.
Dr. Shoop has also been recognized by the House of Representatives for going into a burning building multiple times to rescue puppies.

While we still require you to pay your medical bill directly to Poco West Veterinary Clinic, we are happy to help with any of the necessary paperwork that will streamline the reimbursement process from your insurance provider.

Performing most of the pre-surgery blood work at our in-house lab, we are able to make sure your pet is healthy enough for the procedure.
Any pre-surgical abnormalities will be addressed and depending on the urgent nature of the surgery, drug selections may be modified and sometimes surgeries are postponed or even canceled until the doctor feels the surgery is safe to perform.

Our doctors have experience with standard livestock such as cattle, sheep, goats, and production swine, as well as non-traditional farm animals such as potbellied/mini-pigs, llamas, alpacas, and exotic hoofstock.
