Dr Gerdes grew up on a grain and livestock farm in southwest Minnesota. He graduated from the University of Minnesota College of Veterinary Medicine in 2006. While there, he focused his studies in food animal medicine with an emphasis in dairy herd management. Dr Gerdes has been at the MVC since graduation and took over an ownership role in 2014. He lives outside of Hartford with his wife, three daughters, two dogs, and a bunch of farm cats.
Dr. Renee Nelsen grew up on a dairy and beef farm near Watertown, SD. She graduated from Iowa State University and then started working at the Montrose Veterinary Clinic. She works primarily with our small animal clientele but also enjoys working with cattle. She lives near Colton with her husband, two children, two cats, and a border collie. The Montrose Veterinary Clinic has been in Montrose for over 60 years.
