Dr. Carter, along with his caring staff, provides veterinary services exclusively for cats - from kittenhood all the way through the senior years in a quiet (bark free!), cozy environment. In addition to thorough preventative care (wellness exams, vaccinations, labwork, etc.), we offer a special focus on behavior issues, comprehensive pain management, and feline dentistry.
In 1995, Dr. Pat Carter took over Spokane Cat Clinic, a cats-only practice founded by Dr. Neil Wittrock in 1984. Why just cats? Dr. Carter enjoys the feline species and feels it is most important for the cats to have as comfortable a clinic as possible. He focuses all of his continuing education on cats only. Dr. Carter and his wife have lived in this area for many years and some of the activities they enjoy include spending time with their grandchildren and traveling.
Dr. Carter graduated from Utah State University with a Bachelor's Degree in Biology and Public Health in 1977 and then earned his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from Kansas State University in 1982.

The Spokane Cat Hotel is located in the front half of the clinic and gets a ton of sunshine from a full wall of windows.
Each cat condo (approximately 5' wide x 2.5' deep x 3' tall) features a porthole separating the litter box area from the dining/bed area.
Some of the condos also open up to a "fourplex" for two or three cats from the same household to board together while still having enough space to lounge.
We provide cozy homemade blankets (courtesy of one of our wonderful clients!) and Science Diet Adult Sensitive Stomach dry food is included free of charge.
