Services
A 1984 Graduate of University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine, Dr Silverberg has served the Upper Darby community for more than two decades.
A seasoned Veterinarian and surgeon, Dr. Silverberg brings expert medical and surgical skills to our practice, as well as a broad knowledge base in small companion animals and exotic pets such as rabbits, rodents, ferrets, birds, reptiles and hedgehogs.
With a degree in veterinary technology, Liz has many years of experience in veterinary medicine.
Vaccinations: We tailor vaccines to each pet based on their individual lifestyle, and utilize the American Animal Hospital Association protocol for vaccinations (certain vaccines are given only once every 3 years, instead of yearly).
6 month check ups: Pets age much faster than we do, and we very often find subtle problems at these checkups that would have caused serious or even life-threatening problems for the pet if they were not found so soon.
Diet: We don't believe there is one diet that is best of all pets.
When you arrive for your appointment, our friendly receptionist will get you checked in and let the staff know you have arrived.
At that time, feel free to relax for a few minutes in our lobby until your exam room is ready.
Once in the room, one of our veterinary technicians will start by asking about your pet's medical history, current condition and the reason for your visit, gathering data for the doctor.
Then, one of our veterinarians will examine your pet, ask you further questions and then may recommend diagnostic tests if needed.
Here are some questions/answers that we are frequently asked.
If you have additional questions that aren't covered here, please feel free to give us a call at (610)789-2525.
At what age can I have my pet spayed or neutered?
Spaying or neutering can be done at approximately 4-5 months of age, depending on factors such as breed.
Your pet is given an exam prior to surgery to help determine whether your pet is healthy enough to undergo the surgical procedure.
Current vaccinations are required at the time of surgery.
Please know that we do value your time, and sincerely do our best to see each client and pet in a timely fashion.
Because we don't want your pet to suffer any harm by delaying treatment, if this is the case, we will refer you to one of several veterinary emergency hospitals in the area.
A 'drop off' means you could bring your pet at the time that works best for you and leave him/her with us for a couple of hours.
Usually we will ask you to drop off sometime in the morning so our doctors can examine the patient in between appointments, or at the time purposely reserved for admitted patients.
