Companion Veterinary Hospital
Here are Companion Veterinary Hospital, we are committed to your pet's health. Our dedicated team will always treat your pets as one of our own and we strive to provide them the utmost care while holding our Veterinarians, Technicians and Assistants to the highest standards. Dr. Carlos Gandara has been practicing veterinary medicine for almost 40 years.

Not just working in small animal medicine, Dr. Gandara spent almost four years working in emergency clinics gaining valuable experience. Before CVH, the clinic was known as Dr. Wall's Pet Hospital, and we were lucky enough to inherit such a nice clientele and gain new clients in our years of serving the area. We are proud to be a family owned clinic serving Blaine, Coon Rapids, Fridley, Spring Lake Park and Mounds View.

We even have clients who come to us as far away as Eden Prairie, Elk River and Eagan.
Services
Did you know that approximately 99% of pets have oral disease by the age of 3, getting them used to daily brushing will help cut costs down on dental procedures.
Untreated oral disease can have serious side effects such as liver disease, kidney disease and even heart disease.
Under general anestesia a full mouth exam will be preformed for your pet and we will be able to not only clean and polish the teeth, to help get rid of bad breath, but also assess the teeth with a probe to look for dental disease underneath the gum line, that is not visual with the naked eye.
Is it time?
If not now, when?: Only you can decide with the help of your veterinarian.
Our doctors and technicians have a lot of experience with end of life services and they will provide you with their knowledge and compassion through this difficult time.
Euthanansia: We provide a private room where you may take all the time you need with your companion animal.
It will be your choice if you and your family would like to be present.
Cremation services and Urns: We have a long-term relationship with cremation services provided by Veterinary Hospital Association.
Whether your pet has a cough or a broken bone, here at Companion Veterinary Hospital we can help.
Common ailments that we see include urinary tract infections, upper respiratory infections, ear infections, diarrhea, vomiting and more.
We have the ability to run many tests and diagnostics in house to get you answers right away, such as checking blood work, fecal exams, urinalysis, cytology, radiographs and even ultrasonography.
We offer a full pharmacy so that we can be a single stop while your pet is on the mend.
We do have the capability to call outside pharmacies of your choice if your pet has a more serious condition and even get medication compounded.
We also carry Hills, Royal Canin and Purina prescription foods.
Beyond prescriptions, we have many over the counter items that can help you or your pet.
We offer Glucosamine chews, flea sprays, IVet food, Gentle Leaders, Odor Eliminator Candles and even nail trimmers.
Microchipping is the only unique, tamper-proof, permanent mode of identification and is as small as a grain of rice.
While we recommend microchipping at the time of a pets spay or neuter, they can be done at any time in a pets life.
The process is very simple, we scan your pet for a previous microchip that may have been placed from a breeder/rescue/previous owner.
If not microchip is found, we implant the small microchip which has as unique number that sends small radiowave frequencies to microchip scanners, between the shoulder blades using a slightly larger size needle than what we give vaccines with.
