Born in Fairbanks, Alaska, Kerri Jackson was the youngest of six siblings and the only girl.
Interest in veterinary medicine as a profession seemed to be a natural choice at a very young age.
In 1983, Kerri began her undergraduate studies at Oregon State University.
In 1991, she graduated and began working at Pacific Veterinary Hospital, where she worked for 8 years.
During the winter of 1998, Kerri left Pacific to start her own business with Kent Smith.
Kent has since retired and Natalie Mair-Williamson is now her partner.
