As a youngster, he cared for his family pets and as a Boy Scout he completed the Veterinary Science Merit Badge.
He graduated from Timpview High School and after serving an LDS mission he went on to BYU where he completed a Bachelor's Degree in Animal Science.
Dr. Hansen attended Veterinary Medical School at Washington State University, graduating with honors in 2001.
