Thank you for voting us 'Best Veterinary Clinic' and 'Best Grooming' in the 2019 Brainerd Lakes Best Of Contest. We are a woman-owned and managed veterinary office located in Baxter, MN where we serve the dogs and cats of the beautiful Brainerd Lakes region with a sense of compassion and appreciation for the special relationships pets share with their owners.

Whether you have a new pet, are new to the area, or are looking to make a switch, the doctors and staff at Lakeland Veterinary Hospital would love to make your acquaintance. We have a passion for animals and will care for them as if they were one of our own family pets.

With regular wellness examinations, proper nutrition and exercise, appropriate vaccinations, dental care, and other care that your veterinarian may advise, your pet's chances of contracting a disease can plummet as their day-to-day contentment and energy increases.Unfortunately, it is inevitable that some pets will fall ill from time to time, and for this reason, our veterinarians are also highly experienced in administering acute care, including both general and advanced surgeries and emergency services.
Services
Our veterinary team values, above-all, the relationships we form with our clients and with each other.
We're here to support your pet's long-term health and be a partner to you in providing them the best and most modern veterinary services and technologies.
There's a reason we've been voted 'the best' in the Brainerd Lakes!
Dr. Deb Piepgras, a Brainerd native, is the owner of Lakeland Veterinary Hospital.
Deb received her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from the University of Minnesota in 2000, and began practicing veterinary medicine at Lakeland in June of that year.
Lakeland Veterinary Hospital has been serving the Brainerd Lakes Region for more than 40 years.
Our current veterinary medical facility has been our home-base since the year 2000, when it was built by local architects for the specific purpose of being a functional and modern veterinary practice.
Our hospital owner and director, Dr. Deb Piepgras, was born and raised in the area, and attended Brainerd High School.
She completed her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree in 2000.
Over the years, our staff has developed to be a sort of second family to each other, and we view each of our clients as valued friends.
We're proud of going above to acquire optional accreditations and certifications in the veterinary industry.
Your pets deserve the best veterinary care available!
If there are tactics we can adopt, or systems we can improve, we want the leading veterinary institutions to tell us, so we can stay on the leading-edge of veterinary excellence.
AAHA, or the American Animal Hospital Association, is a non-profit organization for companion animal hospitals, and the only accrediting body for animal hospitals in the United States.
Our veterinarians are trained to provide care for your pets through every stage of their life and medical need.
At our facility, you can be sure that your pet is well taken-care of, including during surgical procedures, examinations and vaccinations, diagnostics, and more.
Furthermore, if you are going on vacation and need a place for your pet to stay, our boarding facility is open and equipped with spacious kennels and condos.
We are eager to know how we can help, so please give us a call to schedule a visit or discuss your pet's needs with us!
Preventative care and regular wellness exams allow your pet's veterinarian to monitor their health and catch diseases in their earliest stages.
Being able to catch any potential ailments as soon as possible is helpful for many reasons; when caught early, diseases are easier and cheaper to treat, and your pet can be saved from needless suffering.
Habits that may eventually cause problems down the line can be addressed, such as difficulty with training, weight gain, weight loss, exercise, and general behavior and lifestyle factors.
