Every person you'll meet here at Pressly Animal Hospital-from the smiling face greeting you when you walk through the front door to the veterinarian caring for your pet-is dedicated to the health and well-being of the companion animals in our care. We are a family-owned and operated animal hospital here in Matthews and Indian Trail. We take our role in both the community and the lives of pet owners seriously.
With a combined 60+ years of experience, Dr. Pressly and Dr. Drake have helped families keep their pets healthy, happy, and safe for decades. After working in the corporate veterinary care world, Dr. Pressly recognized the need for more practices working with rescue organizations, abused pets, and unfortunate cases coming out of animal shelters. His goal was to open his own clinic to help these pets in addition to those in his community.
As the voice of forgotten pets, our mission is to bring that level of care and compassion to every patient we see, whether they're from a shelter or a loving home.

Bringing your pet to the vet for regular wellness care is the best way to ensure their long-term health and well-being.
Just like we need to see our doctors once in a while for routine checkups, our pets need to be seen by a veterinarian on a regular basis.
This provides an opportunity for minor problems to be detected - and treated - before becoming more serious.
It also allows the vet to make recommendations regarding vaccinations, parasite prevention, and proper nutrition, the building blocks of a healthy life.

According to PetFinder, over 10 million pets go missing every year, and one in three pets will go missing at some point in their life.
Even the best fences and training can't keep dogs and cats indoors or in your backyard at all times, and it only takes mere seconds for disaster to strike and your pet to escape.
Having your pet microchipped is the best thing that you can do to increase your chances of being reunited with your canine or feline companion if you ever become separated.
At Pressly Animal Hospital, we believe that microchipping is an important part of pet ownership.

Even if you're getting a well-known brand of pet food, you may not be meeting your companion's specific nutritional needs.
Ensuring that your pet gets proper nutrition is crucial, but it isn't always as straightforward as you might think.
With so many different brands, formulas, and flavors to choose from, many pet owners become overwhelmed when shopping for their animal's meals.
It's also common to struggle with determining exactly how much food their furry companion actually needs.
It's hard to say "no" to those sad puppy dog eyes, and the canine obesity epidemic proves it.

To that end, we offer regular Rabies Vaccine Clinics on the last Wednesday of every month from 2:00 PM - 4:30 PM (except when that date is a holiday).
Rabies vaccines are required by law in North Carolina for all cats and dogs.
This deadly disease is always fatal and can be passed to pets through wild animal bites or other modes of transmission.
Even if your pet is generally indoors, that does not mean they're always safe from rabies.

We also understand that, as animals age, their needs begin to change.
Just like humans, they become more susceptible to a wide range of diseases and disorders.
They can develop painful conditions like arthritis, and they may begin to struggle to get around like they did when they were younger.
We also know that senior pets are just as full of love and faithfulness as their younger selves and that they deserve the best possible care throughout their golden years.
Our specialized senior pet care services in Matthews and Indian Trail make it easy to ensure that your pet's needs are met as he or she ages.
