Town and Country Animal Hospital was established in Salina in 1960 and has been in its present location since 1977.
Dr. Karen Hale-Young purchased the clinic from Dr. King in 1987 and Town and Country Animal Hospital has now grown into a multiple doctor, full-service facility offering the most progressive and up-to-date treatment for dogs, cats and exotic pets throughout Salina and the surrounding communities.
Your pet's health and well being is very important to us and we take every step to give your pet the best possible care including nutrition and preventative health care.
Our appointment book is computerized which allows us to efficiently make appointments for you and your pet.
Our receptionists and team will attempt to accommodate all requests to the best of our ability.
Emergencies are accepted anytime our clinic is open.
If you feel you have an emergency with your pet, please call us or come to the hospital immediately.
If possible it is best to call before coming in so that a staff member can advise you on your particular emergency.
Behavior problems can not only cause stress for you and your pet, but also, if unchecked, can lead to major medical problems and a shorter life for your pet.
Here at Town and Country Animal Hospital we have very compassionate Veterinarians to provide your pet with the best medical care, we also have our knowledgeable receptionists, caring veterinary technicians and assistants, a very talented groomer and attentive animal care assistants.

Here at Town and Country Animal Hospital, we are committed to providing you and your pets with a high level of veterinary care, including diagnostic testing.
Our in-house, fully equipped, state-of-the-art laboratory allows our veterinarians to obtain test results and begin immediate patient treatment.
In our laboratory we have the ability to run chemistries and parasite testing, such as heartworm test and fecal samples, amongst others.
Some of the biggest benefits of our in-house laboratory includes: faster results, more accurate diagnoses as well as reduced stress with less time waiting for lab results.
We have all been there a time or two - you are sitting comfortably on the couch and here comes your pet to cuddle next to you.
Whilst you sit there, it hits you - the smell!
Your pet has bad breath.
This is oftentimes one of the first symptoms you notice, followed by changes in eating or chewing habits, excessive drooling and pawing at their face.
If your pet lets you examine their mouth, you may notice yellow or brown buildup (tartar) on the teeth, red, swollen, or bleeding gums or even loose teeth!
