Isaacson Veterinary Hospital
Our goal is to keep your pets healthy! Our focus is on preventative care. Many illnesses can be prevented by routine care and preventatives like Heartgard and Nexgard. If your pet is ill or has a medical concern we offer comprehensive examinations, laboratory testing, and digital radiographs. We will work with you to choose the best plan that fits you and your pets needs.

Dr. Lester provides veterinary care for dogs (all sizes) and cats and an occasional rabbit. Dr. Isaacson is mostly retired, but does still provide some large animal veterinary care. Call the clinic for more information!
Services
We are a two doctor practice.
Dr. Bill Isaacson is mostly retired now but still sees the occasional large animal.
He was the sole owner of Isaacson Veterinary Hospital for 42 years.
Then his niece, Dr. Barbara Lester, returned to the area in 2014 after working in Jordan, MN for 9 years.
Dr. Lester sees all the small animal patients.
We are still considered a mixed animal practice.
Between both doctors we have 60+ years of combined experience.
Holly is our office manager/veterinary technician.
She has been at our clinic for 5 years.
Prior, she worked at a very busy 4 doctor Veterinary clinic for 14 years.
She lives with her husband and 3 adopted children in Nevis.
Her family includes 1 dog, 4 cats and many chickens.
Holly enjoys making jewelry, fishing, hunting and spending time with her husband, children and grandchildren.
Milena is our veterinary assistant/receptionist.
She came to us through a work study program in spring 2016 and when it was done we asked her to stay.
We recommend Nexgard and Frontline Gold for prevention.
We recommend using flea and tick preventatives monthly all year around.
We live in a very heavy tick population and they live in almost any temp and weather.
They stay out as late as December and this year we found our first fully engorged deer tick in March.
Your pet can get fleas all year around.
They don't even have to go outside to get them.
You can bring home these "friends" on your clothes.
We recommend administering Heartworm prevention montly all year around.
Dr. Bill Isaacson was born and raised in Park Rapids.
He graduated from Park Rapids high school, went on to study pre-vet at Bemidji State University and then attended veterinary school at the University of Minnesota, graduating in 1969.
Dr. Isaacson moved to Illinois to complete an internship and returned to Park Rapids to start Isaacson Veterinary Hospital in 1970.
Dr. Isaacson enjoys raising Hereford cattle and riding Appaloosa horses.
His new pair of Appaloosas, Hank and Mac, are learning to drive!
Hello my name is Whiskers.
My brother and I came to live at the clinic in 2014.
We had to find a new home because we were naughty boys and could not always find our litter box.
We are good kitty's now and love our new home.
I love to lay on the front desk and have my tummy rubbed.
Hello my name is Louie but I prefer King Louie.
I am the youngest of the bunch.
The first time I came to the clinic was because I had been hit by a car or stepped on by a cow.
I was very badly injured.
My jaw was dislocated, leg was broken and my tail had nerve damage.
