At Animal Medical Center of Kansas City, we strive to work with you and your pet to help strengthen your bond and enable you to live a happy healthy life together. We pride ourselves on our high quality services and standard of care. Our staff will take the time to make sure both you and your pet have a good experience at each and every visit. The relationships we build with our patients and their owners are important to us.
Our veterinarians want to provide a trusted source of veterinary care for pets for their whole lifespan, from puppy- or kitten-hood to senior care. Wellness exams at our clinic provide necessary vaccinations in addition to catching diseases in their early stages. Keeping your pet up-to-date helps ensure their long and healthy life. Part of routine care also includes dentistry, as poor oral hygiene contributes to a variety of health concerns if left untreated.
If your pet has not yet been spayed or neutered, we also offer affordable options to prevent animal overpopulation and to keep your pet healthy.

The purpose of wellness exams for pets is to detect illness or disease in its earliest stages, allowing us to provide the most effective and affordable care for your animal.
We want to help them live a long and healthy life by your side.
It's standard for pets to receive an annual wellness exam, though if you have a senior animal or one with certain medical conditions we may ask about seeing them more often.
With pets aging significantly faster than their people, these yearly exams are even more important.

Just like how humans should be getting their regular dental care, our pets need it as well.
Oral health contributes to your pet's overall health in a number of ways.
Animals suffering from tooth decay, gum disease or abscesses will need prompt medical intervention to prevent pain and suffering as well as debilitating mouth and jaw conditions in the long run.
In addition to that, bacteria found in the mouth of pets with poor dental hygiene can travel to and affect the heart, kidneys and liver.
We recommend that your pet receive annual dental cleanings, especially after the age of 3, to prevent or manage periodontal disease.

In that spirit, we offer therapeutic laser treatments that deliver specific wavelengths of light that have been shown to increase circulation and reduce inflammation in the target area.
You can think of these lasers as stimulating similar areas as traditional acupuncture.
The laser, however, is completely noninvasive and painless for your pet, and many animals relax and enjoy their therapy sessions.

Each one of our "rooms" is equipped with a raised bed, comfy fleece blankets/pads and toys (unless your pet eats them, of course).
During their stay, each pet receives 20-30 minutes of outdoor play 2 or 3 times a day in our gated patio, where they can bark at pedestrians or run around.
Families can go together if requested.
We have an all day group play option available for an additional fee ($12) for those that get along with others and want extra socialization.
