WellHaven Pet Health
When your furry family friend isn't feeling quite right, it could make them lethargic, anxious, nervous, or cause other behavior changes. It would be a lot easier if they could just tell us what was wrong, wouldn't it? Let the veterinarians and vet techs at the Mill Plain WellHaven be the voice for your pets. With the ability to examine, test, and analyze the results, we'll be able to get to the bottom of why your pet isn't acting like themselves.

We understand it can be a stressful time for everybody, so we take steps to make our lobby and waiting room as comfortable and calm as possible. Whether it's annual preventive care or emergency services, the Mill Plain WellHaven is here for you. Veterinarians are at their best when they can focus on the task at hand: Making sure your pets are healthy and happy.

At WellHaven, we've taken big steps to improve the work environment for both vets and their nurses/vet techs. By giving them the support they need, they can maintain a healthy work/life balance and, in turn, give your pets the very best care.
Services
We've put our heart and soul into every inch of our clinic.
We work hard to ensure that every single visit is met with smiling faces and a clean and calm environment.
Dr. Schlines graduated from Iowa State University School of Veterinary Medicine in 1994.
He practiced in Iowa and Minnesota as a small animal veterinary for 7 years before moving to Seattle in December of 2000.
While in Seattle, Dr. Schlines ran multiple clinics and oversaw a large number of veterinarians for over a decade supporting them in their medical and surgical development.
Whether you're bringing home a new puppy or kitten or spending the golden years with your senior pet, we'll be there.
WellHaven Pet Health Mill Plain is a full-service animal hospital, offering everything from wellness care to surgical services, and everything in between.
If you're experiencing an emergency, we'll be there for that, too.

Please note: we are a dog and cat clinic only.
WellHaven was born of the conviction that each veterinarian and pet parent makes a difference when it comes to the profession as a whole.
I have a new 8-week old puppy whose first vet visit was today.
I was nervous that he'd be scared, but Dr. Schlines was hands down the nicest, gentlest, and most comforting veterinarian I've ever taken one of my pets to.
I've had both cats and dogs and they've always disliked going to the vet when I've taken them other places.
Dr. Baumgartner saw our dog for an injury and was incredibly thorough and kind with the care she gave.
The staff was attentive and the facilities were very nice.
My dog also loves playing at the day care!
Annual exams are an important part of your pet's ongoing care.
During these appointments, we'll perform a full nose-to-tail exam while checking eyes, nose, ears, and skin.
These appointments allow us to create a baseline of your pet's health, so we'll know when anything changes.
Over time, we'll make sure your pet's healthcare and overall needs are being met as they age and go through lifestyle changes.
These appointments also allow us to go over anything you've noticed at home that may pertain to your pet's health.
Many of the diseases and illnesses that can affect dogs and cats are preventable through proper pet vaccinations and annual wellness exams.
The WellHaven team is here to keep your pet happy and healthy through all stages of their life.
We start your pet's vaccine schedule from your very first visit and work diligently to make sure they stay up-to-date.
Vaccines are special proteins that prime the immune system to fight off specific infections.
Vaccines work to reduce the severity of such diseases should they strike or to completely prevent infection.
