Hippocrates once said that "the greatest medicine of all is teaching people how not to need it." The same philosophy can be applied to pets, and it's part of who we are at Wilmington Animal Hospital. Our veterinarians practice traditional veterinary medicine with a more individualized approach to prevent disease while promoting overall wellness for all of our dog and cat patients in Wilmington, DE.

Instead of emphasizing vaccinations, we shift our attention to total body health and preventive medicine which means vaccine recommendations are individualized to each patient's unique needs. Our state-of-the-art animal hospital in Wilmington is located just minutes from I-95 and 495 in the Bellefonte area. You'll find us just down the road from Claymont, right across the street from Bellevue State Park.

With our wide array of diagnostic and care options, in addition to our traditional wellness services, we gladly welcome pets from Delaware, Pennsylvania, Maryland, and New Jersey. Whether your pet has a need for a standard wellness exam, acupuncture treatment, or dental care, we can meet it!

At Wilmington Animal Hospital, we believe prevention and early detection are the keys to maintaining your pet's long term good health.
We highly recommend bringing him in at least yearly for a comprehensive wellness exam.
The wellness pet exam is a chance to assess your pet's overall health, discuss any changes, and address any concerns so you can make the most informed decisions.
Early diagnosis and treatment of diseases can greatly improve your pet's chances of remaining healthy for years to come.
