Old Trolley Road Animal Clinic
After graduating from the University of Pennsylvania Veterinary College, the Lawson's chose the quaint little town of Summerville to settle down and establish a veterinary clinic. For the next 40 years they have generously served their community while building their business and raising five children. At Old Trolley Road Animal Clinic, we treat your pets like the valued family members they are.

Dr. Lawson grew up in York, Pennsylvania with his mother, father, and younger brother. He attended Purdue University for his undergraduate studies as a biology major so he could go on to do research. After a while, he decided that biology was not for him and then decided to go into veterinary medicine. Judy Lawson grew up in an Air Force family. Her father was a Chaplin so they moved every 2 to 3 years.

She graduated from Texas Woman's University as a nurse. She then went on to gain her Masters degree in Nursing at The University of Mississippi. After graduating, she came to South Carolina and attended MUSC nurse midwifery school where she became a certified nurse midwife.
Services
Here at the Old Trolley Road Animal Clinic we believe you should expect high quality care as well as great service.
Our goal has been to assemble a veterinary health care team committed to providing exceptional client service and veterinary health care.
Our facility features a full In House Diagnostic Laboratory, Digital X-Ray, Surgical and Dental Anesthetic Suites, Full Intensive Care Hospitalization, and out Patient Treatment.
Your pet's annual veterinary visit will include a thorough nose to tail examination.
Routine physical exams are paramount to good health; therefore we recommend annual exams for the same reason your physician and dentist recommend them - if you can detect a problem in its early stages, it's more likely to be treated and resolved with less expense, less difficulty, and better success.
Vaccinations, heartworm prevention and routine deworming are important components of any animal's care and can prevent diseases that are not only life-threatening but very expensive to treat.
We can also talk to you about your pet's breed (some breeds are predisposed to certain health problems), age, lifestyle and overall health.
1. Payment is expected when services are rendered.
In order to focus on our patients' needs, customer service and minimizing costs, we do not bill.
2. We accept debit cards, credit cards (Visa & Mastercard) and cash.
All cards must be signed by the owner of the card.
3. When unexpected illness strikes a pet, unexpected expense strikes as well.
Old Trolley Animal Clinic understands this and is able to make some special arrangements through the CareCredit program.
It takes just 5 minutes to complete an application and will allow you to break down your payment into 6 monthly installments.
Here at the Old Trolley Road Animal Clinic we are able to perform canine and feline spays & neuters, mass removals, heartworm treatments, c-sections and declaws.
Patients must be up to date on their rabies vaccine and have an exam and prior to procedures.
Prior to surgery, we develop a pain management plan for before, during, and after the procedure.
The type and administration of anesthesia is determined by your pet's breed, age, condition, and type of surgery.
Pet owners receive written instructions regarding pain management and post-surgical care.
From our in-hospital lab suite where we can run blood chemistry, urinalysis, heartworm tests, parvo tests, and FeLV/FIV tests with rapid turn-around time, to our access to a full service outside reference laboratory for advanced testing, we have your diagnostic needs covered.
With our state of the art in-hospital chemistry analyzer, we are capable of running anything from the basic kidney and liver values, to specific testing (thyroid, phenobarbital, fructosoamine), saving you time and money compared to reference lab testing.
